Who should choose Nautilus Belle Amie?
Nautilus Belle Amie suits divers who want a steel, stabilized liveaboard with a choice of lower-deck staterooms and larger windowed suites for Socorro. Choose it for the cabin layout and onboard space, not because the ship name promises a particular island itinerary. Nautilus also lists Belle Amie on Sea of Cortez programmes; those are different trips with different joining arrangements.
The Socorro programme advertises capacity for up to 32 guests across 17 en-suite cabins. That is a larger onboard group than Nautilus Explorer's advertised 25 or UnderSea's 19. It does not establish how many people will share your dive tender or cabin on a specific sailing. If a smaller total passenger group matters more than a suite, compare those vessels before paying for Belle Amie.
Nautilus: Socorro programmeLower-deck stateroom or windowed suite?
The operator describes lower-deck standard staterooms with side-by-side beds, private bathrooms and individually controlled air conditioning. Its forward triple stateroom is also on the lower accommodation deck, and the operator explicitly warns that space is tight. A triple berth is a different product from sole use of a twin room.
Six superior suites are described on the wheelhouse deck, with large outside windows and a choice of a California king or two doubles. The two premium suites, Emerald and Cortes, are on the main deck and add a sitting area and a bathroom with double sinks. Choose a superior suite for the windowed upper location; choose premium for the main-deck location and larger living space. Neither upgrade changes the crossing or the available dive days.
The vessel page's category counts and cabin lettering are not fully consistent with its stated 17-cabin total. Use its layout descriptions to shortlist a category, then obtain the named cabin and current deck plan in the reservation. This guide does not infer a missing cabin or calculate passenger capacity from those conflicting category totals.
Nautilus: Belle Amie cabins and deck layoutDive deck, facilities and ocean crossing
Nautilus describes a large main-deck diving area and water-level platform, a separate dining room and salon, a full-length sun deck and freshwater hot tub. Air and Nitrox fills are available; the vessel is described as rebreather friendly, which is not permission to conduct decompression dives on the Socorro programme. Arrange equipment support for your actual diving system rather than treating a facility list as an approved dive plan.
Steel construction and stabilization do not remove seasickness or guarantee a calm passage. The published Socorro sample allows about a day at sea in each direction. A room upgrade is worth considering for how you will use it throughout the crossing, as well as between dives.
Nautilus: Belle Amie cabins and deck layoutHow many Socorro dive days do you get?
Nautilus' sample is nine days and eight nights, with five full dive days and up to 19 dives. Boarding occupies the first day, the outbound crossing the second, diving days three to seven, the return voyage day eight and disembarkation day nine. San Benedicto, Socorro and Roca Partida are the principal areas; weather, site traffic and the navy check-in can alter the order and dive count.
That sample is not a dated Belle Amie departure confirmation. Match the vessel, dates, nights and actual dive days together. Do not compare it as equivalent to a ten-day Mexico Liveaboards programme with six dive days solely because both say Socorro.
Nautilus: Socorro programmeWhat can the public safety documents prove?
The Belle Amie vessel page lists sprinklers, emergency exits, a night watchman and an ISM safety management system. Nautilus' broader safety page describes professional mariner qualifications, STCW training and externally audited certificates. These are operator statements, not an independent inspection by this website.
The public Belle Amie certificate directory mixes older thumbnails with newer linked files. Several of the newer file names begin WHERES_JOHN. A directory label or file name alone does not verify the vessel identity, validity dates or current endorsements inside a certificate. We therefore do not certify Belle Amie's present survey status or rank it as safer than another boat. For that decision, obtain the current vessel-matched passenger safety and safety management documents, and the departure's emergency procedures.
Nautilus: Belle Amie certificate directoryQualifications, insurance and fare exclusions
Nautilus requires proof of dive certification and medical and evacuation insurance for its Socorro programme. Its current pre-trip wording welcomes a range of experience but also says some dives are challenging and unsuitable for less-experienced divers. A certified beginner should not read that invitation as clearance for every site. Explain your recent depths, current experience and buoyancy skills before committing.
The published programme lists Nitrox, rental equipment, park fees, insurance, bar purchases, internet and gratuities separately from the fare, plus a US$35 cash port fee. The suite supplement and sole-occupancy terms need a dated quote. This guide does not present a live cabin price or a government park tariff. Nautilus' Socorro joining point is SeeCreatures in Cabo San Lucas; do not substitute the San José del Cabo instructions used by another operator.
