Maldives liveaboard prices: seven-night fares and the real extras

How much does a Maldives liveaboard cost?

For concrete examples checked on 25 October 2026, Emperor lists seven nights on Serenity’s 15–22 November Best of Maldives departure from €2,128, and seven nights on Serenity’s 28 February–7 March 2027 Deep South departure from €3,380. Blue Force’s dated offer sheet lists a 5–12 December 2026 Blue Force One Deluxe berth at US$2,390 before separately charged fees. These are different dates, programmes and pricing policies, not a market-wide price range.

The Blue Force example becomes US$2,969 per person after the published seven-night taxes, service charge and fuel supplement, or US$3,059 with its optional US$90 weekly Nitrox. International flights, equipment and personal spending remain outside that total. A lower cabin fare can therefore leave a higher payable trip cost than the first search result suggests.

What the Emperor fare includes

Emperor’s 14 August 2026 No Hidden Extras policy says marine park fees, port fees, fuel surcharges and Nitrox for certified Nitrox divers are included. Do not automatically add another operator’s park/fuel/Nitrox schedule to an Emperor quote.

The policy does not make the whole holiday all-inclusive: equipment rental, alcoholic drinks, gratuities, visas, travel insurance and optional upgrades can remain separate. The table’s “from” fares do not identify a confirmed cabin or solo-occupancy total. Obtain the written berth/occupancy price before treating one as the cost for your party. No exchange-rate conversion is used here.

Worked Blue Force seven-night budget in US dollars

This example uses Blue Force One’s 5–12 December 2026 Deluxe offer and the operator’s 2026 Central Atolls extras. It is per person sharing, not the price of an entire cabin.

Cabin package: US$2,390. Maldives taxes: US$195. Green tax: US$84. Service charge: US$160. Fuel: seven nights at US$20, adding US$140. The compulsory additions total US$579, so the sailing package plus those additions is US$2,969. Optional weekly Nitrox adds US$90, taking that basket to US$3,059.

The route page states the fuel charge per person per night for departures from 1 August 2026. The offer PDF says “per day”; the calculation uses seven chargeable nights rather than silently billing eight calendar days. Get that basis confirmed in the itemised booking. These amounts are the operator’s named charges, not a statement that every line is a statutory government tax. Do not carry the explicitly 2026 fee list into a 2027 cruise without a fresh quote.

Which Blue Force costs are already in the package?

The Central Atolls programme includes airport–boat–airport transfers, seven nights in a shared double cabin with full board, water, tea and coffee, and 18 planned dives with S80 tanks, weights, guides and diving dhoni. It lists travel, diving and cancellation insurance, subject to its published coverage. That is not evidence that it covers every traveller, medical condition, activity or cancellation reason.

Nitrox, other rental equipment, soft drinks/alcohol and the day hotel are separate. The source documents disagree on internet: the dated offer sheet says complimentary Starlink, while the route page lists internet as excluded. Treat internet as unresolved until the exact departure confirms its terms; it is not silently included in this budget.

What a cabin upgrade or solo booking changes

The Blue Force offer sheet separates Blue Force One’s Deluxe, Master cabin, Junior suite and Master suite categories. For 5–12 December it shows offer amounts of US$2,390, US$2,490, US$2,590 and US$2,790 respectively. Those are berth-category fares, not four different routes. Compare the bed arrangement and deck as well as the difference in price. The sheet is dated and does not prove that a particular cabin remains available.

A per-person sharing rate does not establish the cost of having a cabin alone. Request either a share arrangement or an explicit sole-use quote. Do not double a headline fare and present that as the operator’s published supplement.

Southern flights and the rest of the holiday

Deep South can add domestic travel that a Male round trip does not need. Emperor’s programme offers assistance arranging flights, rather than including a priced flight in the fare cited above, and advises an extra day at each end for connections. Blue Force’s southern sheet also distinguishes Gan-to-Kooddoo from Kooddoo-to-Gan departures. A southern transfer cannot be priced correctly without the actual direction.

Add the real international and domestic flight quote, checked dive-bag allowance, any hotel nights and ground transfers, required equipment rental, insurance and your chosen gratuity allowance to the appropriate sailing subtotal. No flight, hotel or tip amount is invented here. Set the first flight against the actual last dive and applicable flying-after-diving requirements, not merely the boat checkout time.

How to use these prices

Fares are dated examples, not confirmed bookable inventory or a promise that an offer will remain available.

Compare quotes for the same nights, route direction, occupancy, cabin and diving package. Keep euros and US dollars separate until you have a real exchange/payment quote. The useful total is the sailing plus its actual compulsory charges and your necessary travel, not an average of unrelated headline prices.
