Who Emperor Elite suits
Emperor Elite is a 38-metre wooden-hulled Red Sea liveaboard for up to 26 guests. It is worth comparing if you want an ensuite twin cabin, an upper-deck suite or a same-sex cabin share as a solo diver. Choose the dive programme before the room: a cabin on Elite does not establish that you meet the requirements for Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone.
This is a comparison of Emperor’s published vessel information and trip rules, not a personal onboard review or an independent safety inspection. The sources were checked on 25 October 2026.

| Your decision | Published layout | Practical choice |
|---|---|---|
| Lower-deck twin | Eight cabins; the listed twin category is approximately 10 square metres with portholes, individual air-conditioning and ensuite shower. | The standard shared-room option. Choose it for twin beds rather than suite space. |
| Main-deck twin | One twin cabin, adaptable to a double. | Useful for a couple wanting the stated convertible bed arrangement; request that exact category. |
| Upper-deck twin | Two cabins with twin beds. | An upper-deck alternative without choosing a double-bedded suite. |
| Junior Suite | One upper-deck double suite, advertised at 18 square metres, with a sofa. | Choose for extra room and a double bed, not for separate twin beds. |
| Executive Suite | One upper-deck double suite, advertised at 28 square metres, with sofas. | The largest published room category; a suite does not change the dive itinerary. |
Solo sharing is different from booking a private cabin
Emperor’s Elite page guarantees a same-sex cabin share. If the operator cannot pair you with someone of the same sex, it says you receive a cabin alone without a single supplement. That is a sharing guarantee, not a promise that every solo booking gets a private room. Requesting exclusive occupancy is a different booking choice. Cabin categories are allocated before arrival.
Emperor Elite: cabin layout and Single Travellers GuaranteeSimply the Best: qualification and joining-port decisions
Emperor lists Simply the Best as a March–November programme visiting Brothers, Daedalus and Elphinstone, from Hurghada and Port Ghalib. Its requirement is 50 logged dives and Advanced Open Water or equivalent; divers should be comfortable with drift dives and currents. The pre-departure document separately makes Advanced Open Water certification to 30 metres and 50 logged dives mandatory for its named marine-park itineraries. An onboard course listing does not waive those entry requirements.
The programme’s published departure list includes Emperor Elite for 24 June–1 July 2027, 15–22 July 2027 and 21–28 October 2027, each seven nights. These are dated schedule examples, not verified cabins for sale. The programme heading offers two ports; it does not identify the precise start and finish pair for every row. Obtain that pair on the booking confirmation before buying flights.
On this programme, boarding day is spent in port and the first dive is a check dive near port after departure the next morning. Emperor requires at least 24 hours between the final dive and your flight. Specific reefs and wildlife remain conditional on conditions and the captain’s decision.
Emperor Divers: Simply the Best requirements and dated departuresEquipment, Nitrox and the quote you need
Elite lists 12-litre aluminium tanks as standard, 15-litre steel tanks on request and free Nitrox up to 32%. The Egypt pre-departure document qualifies Nitrox as subject to demand and availability. All divers must use a dive computer and SMB on every dive, plus a torch for night dives; marine-park night dives are not permitted. Arrange rental sizes and larger cylinders before arrival.
The vessel lists two Zodiac tenders, camera charging stations, rinse tanks and a camera table. Complimentary Wi-Fi is a limited-data package for one device, with additional codes available. Do not read that as unlimited connectivity. Ask for one written total for the exact departure, cabin category, occupancy and rental requirements. The vessel page alone does not establish a payable trip price or an all-inclusive holiday with flights and insurance.
Emperor Elite: diving equipment, Nitrox and Wi-FiPublished safety equipment is not inspection evidence
Emperor lists a centralised firefighting and alarm system, smoke and carbon-monoxide monitors, automatic and manual extinguishers, lifejackets, life rafts, a night watch and weekly fire drills involving guests and staff. It also lists oxygen, first aid and an AED, and links an Elite evacuation plan. These are operator statements about provision; we have not independently tested the equipment, inspected the vessel or verified drill records.
The UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch’s Safety Bulletin 1/2025 describes fatal Red Sea liveaboard accidents and failures involving stability, fire protection, lifesaving equipment, escape routes and briefings. It advises booking through reputable vendors able to provide safety assurances and requesting a thorough briefing before departure. This regional warning is not a finding against Emperor Elite. For your assigned cabin, locate the escape route and muster point during the briefing and raise any obstruction or missing explanation before sailing.
MAIB: Safety Bulletin 1/2025, Red Sea dive boatsPaperwork and insurance before travel
Emperor requires comprehensive dive and travel insurance specific to the booking, including diving injury, evacuation and relevant travel risks. Bring certification, recent dive records and proof of diving cover in English or an English translation. Its medical process requires doctor’s clearance where the form indicates it; a certificate and dive count do not establish individual medical fitness.
For transfers, Emperor offers shared services at set timings on embarkation and disembarkation days, not a private transfer at any chosen time. Match the confirmed port and included airport transfer before booking a flight or an extra hotel night.
